On May 16th, we had the honor of participating in the 5th Annual Joseph Betancourt Health Fair, one of the incredible events under the umbrella. 🌟

Events like these remind us why community engagement is everything. We had meaningful conversations, made new connections, and continued our mission of raising awareness about THE VOICES Study — a cancer research study that is only made stronger by the inclusion of OUR community.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and every community member who engaged with us. We’ll keep showing up because YOU are worth it. ❤️

Friday night was refreshing, affirming, and filling. Your presence, energy, engagement, thoughtful questions, and connection with one another made the evening truly special.

As Black and Brown women, we know the power of showing up for each other — pouring into one another and creating spaces where we can be seen, supported, and empowered unapologetically. That is exactly what happened Friday, and we want to continue that momentum together. 🙌🏾

We have proudly donated 250 menstrual kits and hygiene products to FIVE youth and the homeless-serving organizations:

🔺Allston (), 🔺Cambridge ( & ),
🔺Somerville (Somerville homeless coalition )
🔺Roxbury (dearbornstemacademy) to support menstrual equity, dignity, and access for girls and women in our community.

📝We collected signatures in support of the I AM Bill (S. 2491 and H. 534) through Mass Now ().

Your voice matters. Your health matters. Your presence in research matters.

We’ve been active  in the community meeting women where they are and creating space for real conversations around health and advocacy. From tabling at  – After Dark Health Event to connecting with incredible local organizations and agencies, we’re building relationships that empower our community.

But here’s the reality:
If we are not represented in research, we risk continuing to be overlooked in the medicine meant to heal us.
It’s time to change that.

Fellowship + Service = the perfect Sunday. ✊🏾

Thank you to each of the GBNPHC sororities who came out on May 3rd to volunteer with BAC at the Walk for Hunger 2026! We had a blast getting to know each of you while doing what our organizations were built to do — serve. ❤️💜💚💙🩷

Service is the common thread that connects us all, and moments like these remind us why we join our organizations. It was also great to see the NPHC fraternities participate in walking for a cause. Here's to more collaboration, more community, and more impact together! 🙌🏾
