🌸 Supporting Black Maternal Health Week 🌸

Today marks the beginning of Black Maternal Health Week (April 11–17), and at Delta Psi Rho, we are answering the call to action.

The statistics are a sobering reminder of why our work is so urgent: Black women are 3–4x more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications, despite the majority of these deaths being preventable. This isn't just a healthcare issue—it’s a matter of Reproductive Justice.

Through our Safe Labor Initiative, we are committed to:

• 🩺 Advocating for equitable healthcare access.
• 📊 Pushing for policy change and accountability.
• 🤱🏾 Uplifting the vital work of doulas and birth workers.
• 🏥 Ensuring safer, healthier outcomes for our sisters.

As the 19th Annual Bruins PJ Drive comes to a close, we at the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Boston want to extend our deepest gratitude to every single supporter who contributed to our mission!

Thanks to your overwhelming compassion and generosity, we collected an incredible 102 pairs of brand new pajamas for children facing clothing insecurity in Boston. 🥳💙💞💛

This achievement wouldn't have been possible without our dedicated partners—Cradles to Crayons®, the Boston Bruins, Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and Wonderfund—and most importantly, YOU, our amazing community!

Every pair of pajamas represents warmth, comfort, and a good night's sleep for a child in need. You've truly made a tangible difference in the lives of local children, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Yesterday, the sisters of Alpha Gamma had the incredible honor of heading over to the Bolling Building in Nubian Square for the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute’s 2026 Mother’s Day Peace Walk Prep Rally!

Since its founding, this organization has been a beacon of hope in Boston, turning pain into purpose by promoting peace and healing in the face of gun violence.

We were so proud to roll up our sleeves and support the team as they gear up for their annual 5K walk. 👟✨

It feels like just yesterday we were at the Mattapan Branch of the Boston Public Library for our Meet & Greet! Looking back at these photos from our 2025 interview day, it’s amazing to see the journey from potential members to the Sorors we stand beside today. 💙💗💛

We knew then that this group possessed the character and vision we were looking for, and seeing your growth within the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Delta Psi Rho has been such a joy. What started as a formal interview has blossomed into a lifetime of sisterhood!
