Listen! I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m moving through my life on faith alone because how else do you keep moving forward!?

In Islam, the word to mean trust in God is tawakkul. It’s really beautiful because it’s more than just trust. It’s moving through every step knowing that whatever happens, whether I perceive it to be good or bad, it’s good for me because it was written so by the Most High.

Tawakkul isn’t always easy and it doesn’t mean that you don’t worry from time to time. We’re human. And for those of you who know me personally, you know I do more than my fair share of worrying. But in this season of my life, I’m choosing to embrace those who embrace me and love on those who love on me and trust in Allah’s plan for me because whatever He has written is already better than I could have imagined.

There is something so personal and passionate about sharing henna designs on social media. Most people think it’s about showing people what I can do and there’s some truth to that. But on another level, it is so very raw and personal and vulnerable. This is something I created and loved and felt confident enough to share with the world and that makes me open to criticism 🫣 and I’m sensitive so my feelings are hurt real quick! Ijs 🫶🏾
