Both sessions of CAPS drop-in hours are unfortunately cancelled today, and we apologize for any inconvenience. If you want to check in with someone today Living Well has CAPS drop-in hours today at the Davis Center from 12-2pm. Walter and Stefan will both be back next week from 8:30-12pm and 1-4:30pm, respectively.

It’s Meet the Staff Monday! Travis, class of '20 (they/them)
Travis is excited to be back another year with the Prism Center. They are currently in their 2nd year of studying clinical mental health counseling at UVM and is staying busy with a full course load and an internship! In whatever spare time they have, Travis enjoys spending as much quality time with their dog Bloo both indoors and out, playing games of all sorts, and appreciates each season with whatever it may offer. Travis is here on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The Prism Center is now open by CatCard access until 9pm M-F.

From Eric Marcus: “Stella Rush wrote for ONE. But you wouldn’t find her name in the magazine. Instead, you’d need to look for Sten Russell. Stella and Sten were two sides of the same coin. Sten was Stella’s pen name—a byline that appeared regularly in ONE magazine beginning in the mid-1950s. Stella was a woman caught between categories, in search of acceptance. She was , and described herself as “ki-ki,” a derogatory term used in mid-century ***an culture for women who didn’t sort themselves into the butch-femme binary.
Growing up gay in the 1970s, I often felt like I just didn’t fit in. I think we’ve all felt that at times. But for Stella Rush, that was her whole life.”

A friendly heads up from the Prism Center that our CAPS counselor Walter will have shortened hours tomorrow 8:30-10:30am but counselor Stefan will be here 1-4pm. Drop in for 30 minute chats before the weekend. CAPS counselors are here every Friday.
