Year One = NEXT LEVEL ✅

Dr. Chris Gleason — better known as Dr. G — just wrapped up his first year as Sports Medicine Program Coordinator, and let’s just say… he didn’t waste any time.

From adding new student credentials to helping make history as part of the first 4-year institution in Mississippi approved as an NREMT training site, Dr. G is truly, "driving healthcare to the next level."

And the recognition followed:

We are so proud to celebrate Emma on her acceptance into the Physical Therapy program at LSU! 💜💛

As a member of our first graduating class and the first Sports Medicine student in the program’s history to be accepted into PT school, Emma has truly set the standard. Her hard work, dedication, and passion for patient care make this achievement incredibly well‑deserved.

🚨BIG NEWS FOR SPORTS MEDICINE! 🚨

We’re excited to announce a major enhancement to the Sports Medicine program at Southern Miss! Beginning Fall 2026, students will have the opportunity to complete HP 311 – Emergency Medical Technician, giving them the training and experience needed to sit for the NREMT Exam before graduation.

Why does this matter?
🚑 Builds real, hands-on patient care experience
🚑 Makes students more marketable and competitive
🚑 Opens doors to healthcare careers like EMT, paramedic, AT, PT, PA, and more
