Cathedral Park is a beautiful and historic neighborhood in North Portland, known for its nature areas and vibrant community.

Community conscious Cathedral Park embraces the University of Portland, new and older families, singles, dog-walkers, blue-collars, professionals, hippies, joggers, bicyclists, and babes in strollers - in abundance! Cathedral Park includes a 23-acre waterfront park on the Willamette River below the St. Johns Bridge with one of Portland's two boat launches on the river. Cathedral Park is also the h

ome of the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, the oldest continuous free jazz festival west of the Mississippi. Nearby is the 87-acre Pier Park, a swimming pool and world-class internationally recognized 18-hole disc golf course, a state park, soccer and ball fields. Pier Park also provides access to the walking bridge to Chimney Park, an 18-acre park with a spacious, fenced off-leash dog area. The neighborhood also offers a small business incubator in Cathedral Park Place. Cathedral Park's greatest assets are its residents, with positive, friendly attitudes and a powerful sense of community.

Cathedral Park Neighborhood Association (CPNA) is working with Portland State University’s Master of Urban and Regional Planning program to begin the process of developing a Cathedral Park Community Plan.

We are hoping that this plan addresses the impact of development on the Cathedral Park neighborhood, and that it may be informed by community feedback to ensure equitable solutions to issues in the neighborhood. We want to hear your concerns, needs, and topics that are most important to you relating to development in the neighborhood.

• Voice your concerns: Come to the CPNA Meeting on Tuesday March 10, 2026, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM with your City Councilor Sameer Kanal.
