This past week, UNI violins were given the opportunity to perform in a masterclass for members of the Grammy Award-winning ensemble, the Catalyst Quartet. Just one of the many amazing experiences the University of Northern Iowa affords our young artists!

Happy New Year everyone! Here’s to a great 2026 full of wonderful music and lots of practicing.

On Thursday, January 22nd, at 6:00 pm, Dr. Nash Ryder will be hosting a virtual information session and Q&A on the University of Northern Iowa violin studio. We’ll talk about the many opportunities for violinists offered at our school, as well as what being a music student at UNI is like.

It was such a blast listening to the wonderful violinists at Waverly-Shell Rock High School yesterday! Thanks for welcoming us.

Today we were joined by the incredible Dr. Nash Ryder and four members of the UNI Violin Studio, including alumni Payton Schunk! Our violinists experienced excellent specialized instruction!
