Florida Fire Ants The Florida Fire Ants is an AAU Team based out of Central Florida Coached by Jon D'alessandro . Coach D transfered to the College of St. At St. John's University.

Coach D'Alessandro was on ESPN shots of the year in 1989 as a high school junior. He scored his First College points playing as a Freshmen for St.Leo University against the #1 ranked Georgetown Hoyas. Joseph where he finished his career. He was the team captain as well as the senior class president. Coach D has coached at many camps including Davidson College, University of South Carolina, Manhat

tan College and many others.. He was the assistant coach at St. Joseph's College in NY and returned to the College of St. Joseph's as the youngest head college basketball coach in the country. Joe's he helped recruit and develop a player that led the nation in rebounds. Wanting to start a family he moved to Florida with his wife to become a teacher. In his 2nd year teaching he became an assistant coach at Poinciana High. One of his players that he worked with daily signed with the University of South Florida. Jon then took some time off of coaching to train his 2 boy's currently ages 13 (Petey) and 10 (Brock). He is currently coaching the Celebration Middle school basketball team where he and his wife Adrienne both teach. Basketball is all around Coach D'Alessandro as his brother in law Steve Shurina played in the Final Four for St. Steve also was the head coach at Western Carolina University. Coach D's brother Pete D'Alessandro is the former agent of stars such as Chris Mullin and Jason Williams. Pete was also the GM of the Sacramento Kings and currently is the Vice President of basketball for the Denver Nuggets.
