We were happy to have Ryan Boothe from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine on campus to speak with students about the admissions process as well as the Pre Osteopathic Medicine Program (POMP) which gives qualifying students a seamless path of admission. Several students from the Science and Mathematics Department have gone through the WVSOM program, including three of our biology graduates who are graduating from WVSOM this spring.

It’s always great to see our former students! On a beautiful spring day, Natalie Fout and Adam Davis were walking the same trail as Dean of Teacher Education Connie Stout and Chair of Science and Math David O’Dell. Natalie teaches math in Lincoln County and Adam teaches math in Ritchie County. Since their degrees are in math education, both departments claim them!

Congratulations to Daniel Proctor, Carrie Proctor, and Scott Wentz on their upcoming graduation from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Daniel and Carrie will begin residencies in Family Medicine at WVU Medicine in Wheeling, while Scott’s residency in emergency medicine will be at Indiana University in Bloomington. These alumni all received degrees in biology from GSU, and we’re very proud of their accomplishments!
