About Girls on the Run of the Greater Piedmont
Girls on the Run® is a life-changing, character development program focusing on social, emotional, and physical health, for girls in 3rd through 8th grade. The Girls on the Run mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Each season, trained volunteer coaches implement the GOTR 8-week curriculum through twice-weekly sessions that build character and resilience. The season concludes with a celebratory 5K event. Completing a 5K gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Girls on the Run of the Greater Piedmont is an independent council of Girls on the Run International, founded in 1996.
