Harmonious Hoos

Harmonious Hoos An all-gender a cappella Group founded in 2010 at the University of Virginia.

We have performed at Rotunda Sing, UVA Basketball Games, UVA baseball games, Virginia Marching Band Winter Concert at John Paul Jones Arena, Dorm Sings, Lighting on the Lawn, SingFest, Political Campaign Office Openings, local high school performances, as well as many joint concerts and our large individual concerts each semester. We must be back to velvet underground because it’s ELLA KATZ’S BIRTHDAY✨ Ever since Ella joined the harmonious hoos this year she has brought the sweetest energy and the most beautiful rich alto tones to the group🎶💕 Whether she’s singing flawlessly, dominating that soccer field, or casually being an AMAZING cook she can somehow do it all and do it all SO WELL. Ella is effortlessly talented, kind, hilarious (no seriously try to beat her in jackbox..we dare you), and so easy to love! We are SO lucky you joined our little family🫶

HAPPY GRADUATION!
Its the most bittersweet time of year where we say goodbye to our graduating members.
These five have changed the group in immeasurable ways from their beautiful voices to their leadership skills to their irreplaceable kindness, humor, and love. We do not have the words to properly show our appreciation for all you five have done nor do we have the words to express how much we will deeply miss each and every one of you.
Thank you for everything and know that you will always have a home, friends, and a family in the Harmonious Hoos.
We can’t wait to see what you will do and we’re even more excited to cheer you on!

Nearly two weeks since our spring concert! Crazy to think of how much work was poured into this semester to cultivate in such a FANTASTIC concert. I know what you’re all thinking.. 💭 “These are such fantastic photos but where are the concert videos?!” DON’T WORRY! They’re on their way stay tuned! What a semester! Here’s some amazing things that the Harmhoos did this semester (in no particular order)
1. WELCOMED NEW NEWBS! ( )
2. Had. So. Many. Family. Dinners. (some we even cooked ourselves!)
3. An impromptu 1AM, post Monday rehearsal Buccees trip
4. Got Older 👵🏻
5. Got Lucky 🍀
6. Were theater kids (Thank you UVA drama’s production of Great Comet and FYP’s production of Tuck Everlasting)
7. Acaballed! 🕺🪩
8. Boom Boom’d (if that’s not a verb it should be)
9. Got kicked out of the Chem building (apologies again!)
10. “Studied” together
11. Had a killer afterparty
12. Said goodbye to our graduating members 🩵☹️
13. Had probably the most fun anyone’s ever had during an encore🤩

THE CONCERT IS TONIGHT! And our last but certainly not least graduating member and senior spotlight: SIAM SALAM

Siam joined the group as a first year in his first semester. Siam’s voice is unforgettable, his musical prowess is unmatched. He understands sound and singing in such an impressive way, he’s able to articulate it and makes sure that all of us are getting better everyday. On top of that Siam is the embodiment of sunshine. He lights up every rehearsal, keeps us engaged, energized, and upbeat. Siam is the most reliable person I have ever met, he is there for everyone whenever they need it, he’s the person to always make sure you’re okay and know what you need. His capacity for care and love is infinite. He is impossible not to love and he is impossible to forget. Siam the effect you’ve had on this group is incomparable. Your arrangements are gorgeous, your energy is infectious, your heart is gold, and you are going to go so far. Thank you for everything we will miss you so much! TWO DAYS until the concert that will change your life, so time for our fourth senior spotlight: ETHAN YU

Ethan joined as a first year in his first semester. Ethan is insanely talented and integral to the arc. You’ve all been blown away by his perc abilities at some point, he’s a strong bass, bari, and even tenor. He keeps energy high in the arc no matter the song and makes sure to dance the entire time. Ethan is also one of the funniest people you will ever meet, I don’t think anyone has ever left a conversation with him without a smile on their face. He truly cares and is interested in the people around him and it makes him such a joy to be around. Your dedication to everything you do is admirable to your peers and inspiring to the underclassmen around you. We will miss your dedication, your humor, and your energy. We love you! THREE DAYS UNTIL THE CONCERT so it’s time for our third senior spotlight: ZUBIN KAUL
All rise for the honorable Judge Zuby. Joining the group as a first year in his first semester, Zubin has showcased an insanely gorgeous voice. His falsetto is impeccable and his energy in the arc is infectious. He makes an active effort to groove with everyone and he’s always absolutely locked in the arc. On top of that, Zubin is also incredibly observant. He’ll often be the first to notice if someone is feeling down and will go out of his way to check in on them. He’s so intelligent and so easy to talk to about anything (and he will talk to you about anything). Zubin has seen, heard, or read every piece of media before you have and understands it better so don’t even try. We’ll miss you so much! COME SEE ZUBIN KILL IT IN THE CONCERT FRIDAY CHEM 402 AT 8PM

Dominique is by far our coolest member😎 Her stage presence is unbeatable and coupled with a gorgeous voice, she is such an integral part of the harmhoos sound💫 Being our wisest member she takes every unc joke with zero complaints 🫰 On top of that she’s insanely iconic and honest with everyone and we love having you🤍 Whether she’s killing a solo, locking in for Commerce in Shumway, or just being herself she is a JOY to be around! Have an amazing birthday!!

FOUR DAYS from the concert, and it’s time for our next senior spotlight:KIMORA BRYANT

Kimora has been a HarmHoo since her first semester second year. Anytime we perform any song whether Kimora is in the arc of the soloist it’s impossible to keep your eyes off of her. She is such a captivating performer with a powerful, smooth, gorgeous voice. WE KNOW the audience gets excited anytime you step up to solo because they are in for a show and a spectacle of pure talent. Kimora’s capacity to care for the people around her is unmatched, she remembers little details and jokes you may have made months ago. Kimora has an ability to make you feel wanted and loved in such a special way. We will miss your jeans, your “i hate it here’s”, and most of all we will miss you. COME SEE KIMORA ABSOLUTELY KILL HER SENIOR SOLO ON FRIDAY @ 8PM IN CHEM 402
