Kellstadt Finance Community

Founded in 2009 and has over 500 members. It is the only group that serves graduate students whose major is finance or computational finance.

Kellstadt Finance Community (KFC) is an official group that serves finance students at DePaul University - Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, including but not limited to students in MS in Finance, MS in Computational Finance and MBA in Finance. KFC aims to provide a learning platform for finance students and to create a community atmosphere for students to get exposed to the real finance worl

d and to share valuable information. Activities and benefits include networking parties, educational seminars and exclusive job/internship opportunities.

Friday, 10th of May, Kellstadt Finance Community had its second Company Tour for this academic year to Morgan Stanley at Wills Tower and there would have been no better event to wind up for summer break. Special thanks to Joseph Silich, Executive Director of Wealth Management, and a DePaul Alumni for sharing your experience with our members. Also, we would like to thank Sizwe Kamara for taking out the time to talk a little more about the organization. We would like to extend our warm regards to Jack Miller for being so kind and patient with the students.

KFC and CFAA (Chinese Finance Association of America) cordially invite you to join us for the Fundamental Analysis and Stock Picking Workshop tomorrow, May 4th, 2019.

Fundamental analysis is proven to be an effective investment approach to consistently add value to actively managed investment strategies. The workshop will cover topics related to fundamental analysis in a highly interactive and detailed way. In addition, the workshop will provide an opportunity to apply theory to practice by analyzing two stocks (Amazon, ticker: AMZN and New Oriental Education Group, ticker: EDU). On Friday, 1st March KFC organized a Company Tour to W. W. GRAINGER in Lake Forest and it was one of the most informative and enjoyable days despite the cold! We took the Metra and had a chance to know students from different Majors. We received a warm welcome at the Headquarters. We had a chance to meet several employees and ask them about their career paths and what should be our next steps to be successful. I'd specially like to thank Monika Mlynek and Kevin Chen on behalf of KFC for taking out the time to share us more about Grainger.

On Thursday 13th September,
DR. CARL LUFT, DR. THOMAS BERRY, DR. JOSEPH VU, DR. THOMAS EDWALDS, PROF. BRAIN THOMPSON and DR. CHARLES WURTZEBACH shared their knowledge and experiences with students.
They answered questions about how the Field of Finance is changing in the academic and industrial sense. They also answered several questions about CFA, Behavioral Finance, Portfolio Management, and Real Estate.
Also, we had a long discussion about the effects of technology in Finance and how to embrace it.
KFC would like to thank all the professors and students for taking out the time to attend the Info Session.
