The Asian Cultural Exchange (ACE) at DePaul University was formed during the 1983-1984 school year. The organization was first known as the Asian Club until 1987, when it adopted its current name. ACE was created because at that time, concerned Filipino, Chinese, and Korean students felt that the Asian student population was not being fully represented at DePaul. The only Asian-oriented organizati
on that existed at the time, the Chinese Club, dissolved to join forces with ACE to form as an umbrella organization that welcomed all. ACE will continue to exist so long as there are students that care about promoting Asian/Asian American awareness, as well as the preservation of the richness and sanctity of the individual cultures and traditions that form the Asian heritage.
