⛳️☀️ Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual UC Pharmacy Golf Outing!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day on the course. It was wonderful to spend time with alumni, faculty, friends, and supporters while enjoying some friendly competition and plenty of fun.

A special congratulations to our winning team:

Research Day 2026 is coming to the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy on Monday, October 12, 2026!

Join us for a day of:

✅ Student and trainee research posters
✅ Networking opportunities
✅ Lunch and refreshments
✅ Continuing education opportunities for pharmacists

This year's keynote speakers include David Gius, MD, PhD; Rui Chen, PhD; and Kun-Hsing Yu, MD, PhD. We will also honor Dr. Randall Wickett and his outstanding contributions to Cosmetic Sciences.

Last week, our faculty and staff focused on two important priorities: serving our community and investing in well-being.

At St. Vincent de Paul, volunteers helped support neighbors visiting the Food Pantry by assisting with grocery selections and preparing donations for distribution. It was a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact while strengthening connections with colleagues through service.

We also gathered for the 2026 Wellness Retreat, where faculty and staff spent the day learning, reflecting, and recharging. Activities included a presentation from the Osher Center for Integrative Health, a discussion of faculty and staff wellbeing survey results, a session on emotional intelligence, and wellness experiences like Tai Chi and Sound Immersion.

Last week, we welcomed the Class of 2030 to the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy during our 2026 White Coat Ceremony 🥼❤️

During the ceremony, each student was individually coated by Brad Hein, PharmD, marking an important milestone as they officially entered the profession.

In addition, the class presented their class-created oath which reflects their shared commitment to professionalism, integrity, compassion, and patient-centered care as they begin their pharmacy education journey.

The ceremony also featured remarks from pharmacy leaders and advocates, including:
• Sarah Kilpatrick, Ohio Pharmacists Association
• Sarah Nash, PharmD, Ohio Board of Pharmacy
• Daniel Arendt, PharmD, President-Elect, Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacy

Mahala Smith, PharmD
A University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy alumna, Mahala recently earned her PharmD and will complete her two-year residency with Kroger Health while working toward her Master of Science in Pharmacy Leadership.

Liz Dietz, PharmD
Liz recently earned her PharmD from Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy and will complete her residency with Kroger Health.

🎉 Our students made a strong showing at the Student National Pharmaceutical Conference in Rockville, Maryland!

Five UC Pharmacy students attended the conference from July 31 to August 3, taking part in competitions, presentations, networking opportunities, and professional development workshops.

🏆 Nicole Ntim and Stella Nenni competed in the Clinical Skills Competition.
📊 Alia Diushebaeva presented a poster.
🤝 Meni Dwomo and Bernita-Bernice Yonnie attended as delegates.

The group also had the opportunity to connect with several UC Pharmacy alumni throughout the event.

A special congratulations to Bernita-Bernice Yonnie, who received a scholarship during the conference! 👏

Linh (Lucy) Tran, PharmD
Originally from Vietnam, Linh recently graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and is completing her PGY1 residency at the Cincinnati Health Department.

Nazek Salem, PharmD
After a career as a staff pharmacist with Kroger Pharmacy, Nazek has returned to training through a residency with Medication Managers LLC/LifeLine Pharmacy.

Casey Coronel, PharmD
A recent graduate of Purdue University College of Pharmacy, Casey joins the program as a PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Resident with Walgreens.
