Principals' Institute is off to a strong start this week at MC!

On Monday, participants kicked things off with a team-building challenge course at Hinds Community College, strengthening collaboration and leadership skills.

Today, attendees were inspired and challenged by Principal Baruti Kafele's powerful message on the instructional value of principals and the critical role they play in supporting and developing the teachers they supervise.

It's been an impactful week of learning, leadership, and professional growth—and there's more to come tomorrow as participants continue engaging in meaningful conversations and experiences designed to strengthen their leadership and support student success.

We look forward to another great day of learning together!

Students in the Multicultural Classroom course at Mississippi College partnered with the Clinton Public School District this spring to promote literacy while celebrating cultural diversity. 📚🌎

As part of the national “Read Across America Week” program, the “Read Across the World” initiative at Northside Elementary supported English Learner students through culturally responsive activities and creative literacy engagement.

MC students, faculty, and Northside teachers collaborated to design and assemble educational materials that culminated in a large visual installation displayed within the school.

This recognition reflects the strength of collaboration, a shared vision for student success, and a commitment to creating meaningful impact in our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with dedicated faculty, staff, students, and community leaders who inspire positive change every day.

Together, we are strengthening connections, expanding opportunities, and making a lasting difference for students and our community.

Congratulations to Educational Leadership graduate, Kalea White!

Northwest Rankin Middle School is pleased to officially welcome Kalea White to our leadership team as our newest Assistant Principal. A familiar face to many in our community, Kalea brings a wealth of expertise to Northwest Rankin Middle, having dedicated 13 of her 15 years in education to the Northwest Zone. She joins us following a two year tenure as the Secondary Curriculum Specialist for ELA and a coordinator for the RCSD RISE program, where she spearheaded significant work in professional development and instructional coaching. Kalea’s deep understanding of literacy, her commitment to fostering a positive staff culture, and her personal roots as a Flowood resident make her an invaluable addition to our team. We are excited to have her instructional leadership and passion for student success back in the building as we continue to elevate our school community.
