There are two retreats: Fall Retreat and Spring Retreat.

Requirements to Join:
To be in good standing with Fish Council and Class Councils, you must maintain a minimum G.P.R. of 2.0 and attend both the Class Councils meetings and the Class Meetings, which alternate bi-weekly on Mondays at 8:30 pm, as well as all other mandatory events (e.g. host the many of the unifying traditions A&M is famous for) throughout the year. As a member of Fish Council, you

can expect to feel a heartwarming sense of pride for Texas A&M, partake in many community service projects in the Bryan/College Station Area, meet your best friends, and have an amazing and unforgettable freshman year. Fish Council is designed to be a program in which the members can enter Class Councils as freshmen and stay in Class Councils all four years of college, thus forming friendships and making memories to last a lifetime all while performing service to the university. The purpose of the Fall Retreat is to allow members to make the first of many memories together and to prepare the members for the upcoming year. The Spring Retreat is aimed at enhancing leadership skills gained from the past semester and to further strengthen the bond between the members. Committees:
As a member of Fish Council, you are required to participate in one of the following committees: Service, PR, Fundraising, Member Development, Outreach, or Social. These committees meet weekly and serve as time to actually make the many events Fish Co have happen through working with directors to make the experience something the freshmen value. As a part of a committee, you get the opportunity to work with members from your class and build stronger relationships with them.

Our Story

Fish Council consists of 64 members who are selected as the official representative body of the Freshman Class. Fish Council is a part of a larger organization called Class Councils. Class Councils houses the Class Officer positions: Class President, Class Vice President, Class Secretary, and Class Treasurer. You have the opportunity to be a member of Class Councils for four years, which makes Fish Council unique from any other FLO. This enables all members to fully develop themselves, knowing that their involvement does not end after their first year. Fish Council also focuses on social and service events to better enhance the experience of the freshmen involved. Fish Council has a variety of events from retreats, formals, big/little programs, and more! Fish Council is also responsible for the organization of a committee to coordinate Fish Fest which is the first class event to unify the new Freshman class at Texas A&M University. It is usually a time for the freshman class to participate in activities such as free food and live bands. Also, freshman may receive their official Class t-shirt. The official Fish Fest page can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/AggieFishFest The parent organization, Class Councils, can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/AggieClassCouncils
