Please join us in celebrating Sue Yun Fowler, Assistant Teaching Professor and Roxanne W. McDaniel Faculty Fellow, on her new leadership role as Regional Coordinator for the North America Region 5 with Sigma Theta Tau International! 🎉
In this important position, Fowler will:

• Foster collaboration and connection across chapters
• Highlight and celebrate chapter achievements
• Guide strategic planning and help chapters strengthen their impact
• Provide expert insight as chapters navigate day‑to‑day challenges

Fowler’s leadership philosophy shines through in her Meet the Candidates statement, where she emphasizes the power of communication, connection, and collective wisdom to help chapters thrive together.

✅ Evidence-Based Practice/Performance Improvement Project Grant
Deadline: March 2, 2026, by 5:00 PM CST
Eligibility:
✔ Active Sigma – Alpha Iota Chapter member
✔ Enrolled in or completed a master’s/doctoral program
✔ Ready to implement your research/project upon funding
✔ Complete within one year and present findings at a chapter meeting
Application Includes:

Signed application form (students need advisor signature)
Proposal (Research: R03 format | EBP: ≤12 pages)

Delegates Dr. Jessica Hoehne, Leadership Succession Chair, and Dr. Christa Torrisi, Research Committee Member, attended the 48th Sigma Biennial Convention in Indianapolis. There, they accepted the Alpha Iota Chapter’s 3rd Chapter Key Award and participated in the House of Delegates. Dr. Elizabeth Anderson, Research Committee Member, and Dr. LeeAnne Sherwin, Chapter President, were also in attendance, where Dr. Anderson presented on the Essig Mentorship Program.

Alpha Iota Chapter Announces Travel Award Recipient: Ella Stopka

The Alpha Iota Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing is proud to announce the recipient of the Alpha Iota Travel Award!

This prestigious recognition is awarded to a nursing student whose essay received the highest rankings through a blinded review process conducted by current Alpha Iota members. The selected essay demonstrated exceptional insight, reflection, and commitment to global health and nursing excellence.

Ella participated in a recent community health study abroad experience, which we trust was both educational and life-changing. Her contributions exemplify the values of Sigma Theta Tau and the mission of advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.
