Current students: You could be a founding member of the (relaunched) Student Media Association. The student organization hosts guest speakers, takes members on field trips to see professional TV journalists in action and generally just looks great on your resume. Mass Comm students are encouraged to join but all FMU students are welcome. To learn more attend the interest meeting on Jan. 22.

FMU Mass Comm alumnae Kei'Yona Jordon can be seen in the latest episode of the Netflix documentary series "Missing: Dead or Alive." The episode (No. 4 in the show's second season) is about the disappearance and death of Shandon Floyd, which Jordon covered for WACH Fox 57 in Columbia.

Netflix has quietly dropped a 4-part true cri:me series so dark and addictive that viewers are blasting through it in a single sitting and heading straight online to plead for more episodes. Built around real events, buried evidence and testimonies that don’t quite line up, the series peels back layer after layer of lies, power and manipulation until you’re no longer sure who is the victim and who is in control. With each episode ending on a nerve-shredding reveal and the final chapter raising as many questions as it answers, this “gripping” docu-drama is fast becoming Netflix’s latest word-of-mouth phenomenon — the kind of show that keeps you up at 2 a.m., replaying scenes and wondering what the cameras didn’t show.
