✨Sharing a little wreath transformation ✨⁣⁣

The ✨after✨ of this little 11 inch wreath has a variety of wood flowers (roses, small buds from a hydrangea, & mums) and added fillers to give it dimension and fullness. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I had a lot of fun creating this using small pieces of leftover filler and “off” color sample flowers from a wedding order. I minimized waste and created a cute wreath for my work office! ⁣⁣

I’ve never created anything for my own spaces, but after getting to create for a really fabulous couple (more to be shared on that later!) I was inspired to make something for me! ⁣
⁣
Every time I create for clients I dye multiple flowers until I mix up and create just the right shade/color. This usually means I have extra wood flowers that just didn’t make the cut! I decided to use those flowers, extra pieces of filler, and other materials I had on hand to create this bouquet! ⁣

This everlasting bouquet is now is on display in my office at work 💐

I always appreciate when folks say they can’t believe these flowers are wood, and not fresh. While I always strive to create hyper realistic wood flowers that give folks a similar look and feel, but with an eco-friendly twist, I also love showing off the unique intricacies that set them apart. ⁣
⁣
Every single wood flower is hand made from thin sheets of wood. If you look closely, you can see the wood grain peek through and rather than hiding this, I always seek to bring it out with the painting techniques I use. ⁣

I hosted my FIRST EVER wood flower (succulent) making class! 🌿🌵♻️🪴⁣

I had the best time and appreciated all the wonderful students who joined, made fabulous things, & gave me grace as I figured out how to actually teach my process 🙃⁣

(For those who don’t know: Nearly 2 years ago, I moved to Seattle for a job that I absolutely love ❤️ l work at a university & chose to host this class as part of our student staff end of the year party 🎉)

For the first time since moving to Seattle I took time to create again! ✨⁣⁣
⁣⁣
While I’m not up and ready to start designing for clients yet, I took the day to take a flower making course. A huge shout out to HannahSola for teaching these courses - though she admittedly showed us how to make a sunflower and rose…and as you can see I didn’t have any yellow paints for a sunflower so I just used her techniques and created…well, something different entirely 😂 ⁣⁣

Today was a great reminder of how grateful I am to be able to craft and create in a way that brings me joy. I appreciate each and every one of you for supporting me and making this all possible. As I continue to settle into my new place and get used to a smaller craft space (hence the windowsill photoshoot 📸), I will be sharing photos of work I created throughout 2022 and had totally forgot to share with you 🙃 I am excited to be creating and sharing with you all again! ⁣⁣

I have an exciting announcement…I’m moving! (Which means so is MW Florals) 🚚📦🛬⁣

I was offered an amazing job opportunity in Seattle, WA and myself and MW Florals will be headed to Washington next week. ⁣
⁣
What does this mean for MW Florals? I’ll still be creating, sharing, and crafting for you all - just in a new state. I will be pausing selling until I can work out the legalities and logistics of properly doing business in Washington (aka becoming a registered business there). You can find any updates and announcement’s shared here with you all!⁣

I’m currently running a sale on my Etsy page to help reduce the number of boxes I bring in my move, so head there - sale ends this Thursday and everything ships by Saturday. (No code is needed for the discount and I will not be offering local pick up for this sale). ⁣
