This June, we reflect on how the foundational principles of American civil rights continue to evolve to meet the demands of modern justice.
In June 2020, the legal definition of equality in the American workplace was fundamentally strengthened. In its landmark Bostock v. Clayton County decision, the Supreme Court ruled that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964—the landmark law passed to dismantle systemic discrimination based on race, color, religion, s*x, or national origin—safeguards LGBTQ+ employees nationwide.
By anchoring this decision directly into the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the ruling honored a timeless constitutional truth: that core civil protections must expand dynamically to shield all people from institutional bias and arbitrary economic harm.
True social justice relies on the continuous work of aligning our legal systems with human dignity. As we mark this anniversary, we recognize that the march toward equal protection under the law requires persistent advocacy, rigorous legal strategy, and an unwavering commitment to workers' rights.

Did you know:

Black autistic children are often diagnosed later than their white peers and are frequently misdiagnosed with behavioral or conduct disorders rather than autism.

Stigma within the Black community, sometimes viewing neurodivergence as a weakness or lack of discipline, can lead to reluctance to seek professional help.

Black children now show higher autism prevalence rates in some studies, they still face significant barriers to specialized care and reduced access to necessary services compared to other communities.
