157 years ago Kappa Alpha Order was founded. The gentleman James Ward Wood, William Archibald Walsh, William Nelson Scott and Stanhope McClelland Scott changed the name from ΦΚΧ to KA and created the beginning of all that we have today. As our nationals requests, raise a glass today in honor of our founding.

BROTHER OF THE WEEK: AUSTIN BLUME

Austin Blume is a junior interdisciplinary studies major with an emphasis in fish and wildlife management from Roseland, New Jersey. Blume is chair of our tailgate committee and a member of many other committees such as recruitment and philanthropy. He is a constant source of energy for the chapter and definitely ranks number 1 overall in holiday spirit. He reminds us a lot of LeBron James because of his ability to work as a team, leadership qualities, and his hairline. We would like to thank him for orchestrating the decorations this past weekend. If you see him on campus make sure you tell him good job and wish him luck on his finals.

The boys got the W in the intramural soccer championship today. Goals were scored by Carter Child’s (‘57), Mason Imbriglio (‘73) and Layton Brakefield (‘86). Goalie Brian Leckie played outstanding posting a 3-0 shutout. Special thanks to our intramural chair AJ Herrera and player-coaches Christian Kellaher and Mason Imbriglio for organizing an outstanding season and congratulations to all of our players as well.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: TREY MARKS

Trey Marks aka DJ Alpha is an alumni of the ΖΩ chapter here at Coastal. He is originally from Summerville, SC located right outside of Charleston. During his time at school, he was a double major in marketing and management. He was our chapters Vice President and was very passionate about his position and new member education. He helped the men who came after him become what they are today. Trey is a part of the few, the proud, the 41% and graduated in 2021. Since graduating the previous number II splits his time between Charleston and Myrtle Beach. He has earned himself a full time job at EFL global and is renowned as one of, if not the best DJ in the Conway/Myrtle Beach area. He consistently DJs our events and tailgates at a low cost and lets us use his equipment when needed. We would like to thank Trey for all he has done for the chapter and his continued contributions to our efforts even after graduation. Thanks Trey!

BROTHER OF THE WEEK: ALEX KNIGHT

Alex Knight also known as Alex Day, Alex Afternoon and occasionally Marvin is a freshman from Strafford, New Hampshire. He is a part of our newly initiated Kappa class and has already become a crucial member of the chapter. He was given the award of “best new member” at our semi. Alex spends his days pretending that he hasn’t been initiated yet but in fact, he actually was selected to be the new VP of Public Relations on IFC. Being on IFC is a great achievement for anyone but as just a freshman is even more impressive. We would like to congratulate him and can’t wait to see what is to come. He told me in a recent interview that he was “coming for Hayden’s neck” because he wants to prove he is “the superior Knight brother”. Congratulations Alex keep doing great things!

This week, we would like to recognize brother Frankie Pinto.
Frankie is a junior from New Jersey studying political science.

Frankie has been apart of our chapter since last fall, and since then he has taken over our marketing committee and has become a huge asset to our chapter in many ways.

We would like to thank him for DJ’ing both of our Halloween events this past weekend, creating our semi shirts and also paid over 600 dollars ahead of time for the benefit of the chapter. If you see him at semi tonight make sure to tell him good job.
