USC Recumbent Vehicle Design Team

USC Recumbent Vehicle Design Team Each year, the USC Recumbent Vehicle Design Team creates a vehicle to compete in the ASME Human Powered Vehicle Challenge.

In 2018 the team placed 4th at the ASME West Competition. The USC RVDT is designing and constructing a vehicle to compete in the annual American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Human Powered Vehicle Challenge, a competition that aims to reinvent the way we approach transportation. If you are interested in applying what you are currently learning in class, our team might be right for you. Cu

rrently we have positions open in areas ranging from SolidWorks design, aerodynamic optimization, business as it applies to engineering, safety and comfort innovation, micro controller usage (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), and more! Don't worry if feel you are inexperienced, mentors within the group are more than happy to lend their knowledge. A very successful competition season has concluded!! 1st in design, 3rd in the drag event, and 2nd overall!Thank you to all of our team and those who have helped us; this year’s vehicle has proven to be one of the most reliable, stable, and competitive vehicle the team has seen! In the rain and sun, USC Trojans have proven to be successful no matter the circumstances. Our team looks forward to next year’s season and we hope to see everyone there!
