The Peer Mentor Program provides first generation students with resources to be successful at Stetson University and beyond. Students who are among the first in their families to attend college face some unique challenges. Stetson University's long history of serving first generation students provides a framework for an understanding and supportive campus culture in which first generation students
are welcomed and inspired to be successful. Through SU First programs, first generation students will:
Develop a greater awareness of Stetson; University's resources and culture;
Develop a sense of engagement and belonging;
Gain a better understanding of the financial aid process and the importance of personal budgeting;
