Join us as we officially kick off Pride Month in Lansing!

The City of Lansing and Lansing Pride will once again raise the Pride Flag at Lansing City Hall in celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community and the importance of visibility, inclusion and love.

Next week, Affirmations is hosting a free Ferndale Pride documentary screening of America You Kill Me, a film about Jeffrey Montgomery, the Michigan gay rights activist whose work still echoes through our community today.

Jeffrey’s activism began after the 1984 murder of his partner, Michael, and grew into decades of anti-violence advocacy, community organizing, and persistent work to make LGBTQ+ people safer in Michigan.

After the screening, stay for a talkback with Affirmations Executive Director Tracy Hall.

This is local history. Our history. And it’s one of those evenings that feels important to be in the room for.
