UMaine Equestrian Team

UMaine Equestrian Team We are the University of Maine Equestrian Team! Our group is both a club, and a show team which competes on the IHSA show circuit every semester.

For ISHA we're zone 1 region 2! Our group consists of both the Equestrian Team club, and the show team that competes on the IHSA circuit every semester. As a club, we are very involved in the community through volunteer work, fundraisers and other activities. In the past, we have held pony rides and bake sales, clinics with the local Boys and Girls Club and even a spaghetti dinner! As a show team,

we compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association in Zone 1, Region 2. We compete against other schools in Northern New England, including the UNH, Darthmouth, UVM, Middlebury, Castleton, Colby-Sawyer, Endicott and Bowdoin. Our riders ride in several different levels, from Walk/Trot to Open at shows throughout the semester. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us! Follow us on here and Instagram

We are hosting an Spring informational meeting on Wednesday, April 17th at 8 pm. During we will go over what the club does and what being on the show team looks like.

Anyone can join the team! We have a range of riders, from people who have never sat on a horse before to riders who have been around horses their whole life! Members may just take lessons through the school year or may also participate on our IHSA team!

Congratulations!!!! We had three of our very own teammates compete at IHSA regionals! Madi Bangs our president and captain (novice) competed and received reserved champion! Anna Robinson our Vice President and co-captain also competed at regionals in the covid cut class along with Carmen Alonso! We also placed 6th as a team in point totals, which means we have qualified for zones!
