In an effort to place Day of Caring volunteers at a project site where they can apply their knowledge or talents, we ask them for their field of study/academic interest on the registration page. Maria Barlow, Building Assistant for Lockmiller & Stagmaier, responded to this question with “serving people.” This was the attitude & spirit of all faculty, staff, and students right from the very beginning on Friday, September 20th! UTC joined over 900 volunteers across Chattanooga, but we more than doubled our participant numbers from 2023 and offered twice as many projects sites compared to last year. We also added a Kick-off and Celebration along with leadership roles.
It has been honor to be part of this initiative over the last three years! We can’t wait to see what follows. Thank you to all volunteers/groups and the partners for making this event happen, including .dde and ! Mocs truly learn, do, & lead!
