Did you know that Southeastern Oklahoma State University students can pursue INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIPS through the Office of Study Abroad?

It's true! Our partners at both Webster University Study Abroad and ISEP Study Abroad offer internship programs as part of the study abroad experience.

But anyway, if you know some students that might be keen on an international internship as part of their Journey at SE, send them our way!

The Office of Study Abroad is hosting its first Virtual Study Abroad Fair next Tuesday, 1 September, and inviting some cool friends.

Webster University Study Abroad and the WINS Network will be online with us from 10:00-11:30 (Central).

ISEP Study Abroad will be online with us from 12:30-14:00 (Central).

These are great scholarships for Southeastern Oklahoma State University to apply for, whether they are going abroad for a semester, a summer, or just a short-term study abroad adventure.

Applications are now open for the Gilman Program!

The Gilman Program provides merit-based scholarships of up to $5,000 to talented American undergraduate students with high financial need to study or intern abroad. These experiences help students build international knowledge, professional networks, and foreign language skills.

➡️ ️ Dependents of active or activated U.S. military personnel receiving Title IV financial aid are invited to apply for dedicated Gilman funding.

➡️ Students studying languages important to national security or pursuing STEM careers can apply for additional funding.

➡️ Community and technical college students are encouraged to apply.

The application deadline is Thursday, October 1 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Find resources, webinars, and more information at: GilmanScholarship.org.

Want a free semester in Wales?

Contact the Office of Study Abroad ([email protected]) to learn more about how you could be our next Brad Henry International Scholar and spend the Spring semester at Swansea University in Wales!

Applicants must be:
• be at least 18 years of age;
• be an undergraduate student from an Oklahoma regional university;
• be an Oklahoma resident;
• be enrolled full-time at the nominating institution;
• be in good academic standing at the nominating institution;
• have a minimum GPA of 2.5;
• have completed at least 30 hours of college coursework/credits, not including concurrent enrollment or AP coursework/testing; and
• have submitted information, documents, acknowledgments, releases and authorizations as required by the program

Southeastern Oklahoma State University students probably already know that they can get a scholarship to study abroad with the Gilman International Scholarship Program, but what about the Freeman Asia Scholarships, operated by the Institute of International Education.

Hey Students!

Did you know that Southeastern Oklahoma State University offers International Internship opportunities through the Office of Study Abroad?

It's true! Internships for academic credit are offered through our partners at Webster University Study Abroad and ISEP Study Abroad for Southeastern students.

AND a 2025 study from the Forum on Education Abroad found that the average study abroad participant earns more than $4500 more per year after they graduate in JUST THEIR FIRST JOB! 90% of respondents said that their education abroad experience was a key asset in their career success and 94% said that it help them build job skills that helped them advance in their field. Study Abroad participants are even more likely to promoted ahead of their peers who did not study abroad!
