2026 ATV Safety Certification Trainings
ADULT LEADER CERTIFICATION - May 2, Sherburne County Fairgrounds
Registration deadline: April 24

Register for 4-H ATV Safety Leader certification! This event is designed for adults who lead or would like to lead Youth ATV Certification Courses. This training will include a Minnesota DNR Certified Volunteer ATV Safety Instructor Training Class, TREADLightly Principles, and additional riding skills and tips.

YOUTH CERTIFICATION TRAINING - May 30, Sherburne County Government Center
Registration deadline: May 23

Minnesota 4-H is excited to offer All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) certification safety training to youth in grades 4 and up who are at least 10 years old. Youth who complete this training will receive their Minnesota DNR ATV Safety Certificate.

Please see the 4-H ATV Safety website for registration information for both opportunities.

Learn about proper protective gear, how to safely operate an ATV, and be responsible with the environment while you are riding.

What an amazing day! We had 81 young people participate in the 3rd annual 4-H Outdoor Education Summit, 11 volunteers certify in SS&W Wildlife discipline and 8 SS&W Ambassadors leading Cloverbuds! Afterwards, 15 4-H OWLS, continued with their fall retreat being supported by the 4-H EAGLES. More pictures to come! Thank you to the staff and volunteers who led the sessions!

HAWKS (High Adventure Wilderness KidS) Experience!
Youth will travel to Minnesota’s beautiful Voyageurs National Park for a canoe and camping experience! Participants will be expected to join monthly zoom meetings from February through July for trip preparation. This trip will be limited to 13 youth (8th grade + or has completed the 4-H OWLS Program) and total cost is $1000, which includes outfitter guides, equipment, food, lodging, and transportation. Trip dates are August 2-8, 2026. The deadline for registration is January 5 and requires a $350 deposit (additional payments will be $350 due March 15 and $300 due May 15). Register through 4-H Online - there are only 8 spots left!
