Great to see continued collaboration between Michigan State University and partners in Kazakhstan.

During this week’s visit to the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, MSU delegates met with Chairperson of the Board – Rector Beibitkul Sarsemkhanqyzy Karimova to discuss strategic partnerships, academic exchange, and opportunities for future joint initiatives in education and research.

The visit highlights the importance of international cooperation in strengthening global academic connections across Eurasia and beyond. CEES Director Volodymyr Tarabara was among the MSU representatives participating in these discussions.

🌍 CEES at VIPP–Bolashak Alumni Reunion in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The MSU Center for European and Eurasian Studies (CEES) was proud to participate in the VIPP–Bolashak Alumni Reunion, bringing together alumni, partners, and colleagues to celebrate ongoing collaboration.
CEES Director Volodymyr Tarabara took part in the panel discussion, contributing to conversations on strengthening international partnerships. We were also pleased to have ISP Dean Titus Awokuse in attendance, highlighting MSU’s continued commitment to global engagement.
It was great to reconnect with alumni and see the impact of programs like MSU’s Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) and the Bolashak Program.

CEES Director Volodymyr Tarabara and former director Norm Graham joined MSU Vice Provost and Dean Titus Awokuse in Washington, D.C. for engagements connected to the Global Challenges University Alliance 2030 (GCUA 2030) 🌍

During the visit, Dean Awokuse participated in the panel discussion “Advancing Innovation in Agrifood Systems” at the Embassy of Sweden. The event highlighted how collaboration across academia, government, international organizations, and the private sector can accelerate innovation and drive transformation in agriculture and food systems.

Michigan State University is proud to be a founding member of GCUA 2030 alongside the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), reinforcing our commitment to sustainable global development.
