First full week of classes nearly complete? ✅The natural reward, of course, is Bark Break! 🐕 Happening on the Campus Mall from now until 1:00 p.m.!

We know Blugolds have been hard at work the last couple of weeks getting familiar with their classes, making new friends, and attending Blugold Welcome events. And, we know they might be really missing those furry siblings back home. So, UWEC faculty and staff brought 30+ of their dogs to campus to meet ALL the new (and returning) students!

Has your Blugold made it to Bark Break yet? Did they tell you about any of their new (tail-wagging) best friends?

HAPPENING NOW! Is your Blugold looking to find a club or organization to get involved in? Have them swing by Blu's Orgs Bash on the campus mall from now until 1:00 p.m. This is a great event that helps students find those fun ways to get involved, build their networks, and meet new people! Definitely encourage your new Blugolds to swing by this afternoon!

Yesterday, we celebrated Opening Day, a UWEC tradition where we officially welcome the incoming class. Students had the chance to explore campus, met with their academic majors, and heard from university leadership. In his remarks to the incoming class, Interim Chancellor Carney encouraged students to lean in this year, take risks, and get involved.

Next up? First day of classes. Good luck Blugolds on your courses this fall. We're so happy you are all here, and can't wait to see all the incredible things you will accomplish! 🩵💛

Is your incoming Blugold freshman looking for an unforgettable experience? Check out Freshman Connection! The Freshman Connection Immersion Program is designed to help first year students make a smooth transition to college life. Students move in early to their residence hall and experience what life is like on campus. They meet other first year students, become familiar with the campus, the residence halls, dining hall and our recreation facilities. The 5-Day Adventure program includes beginner friendly day trips of canoeing, hiking, and rock climbing.

The Freshman Connection Program fills every year so, apply today! Financial support is available through scholarships as well. Blugold Welcome is just over a month away! Blugold Welcome is an exciting series of events and activities designed to help new Blugolds transition to campus life. Your students will have opportunities to learn about campus resources, get involved with student organizations, and start building the friendships that will carry them through their college years. And whether your student thrives in large group settings or prefers smaller gatherings, they'll find their place with the varied activities offered.
