West Virginia University (WVU) recently made an appearance in the baseball College World Series. WVU has "Power 4" athletics and R-1 research, yet the demographic cliff has hurt this flagship university more than most others, and more than the school deserves. I took a look into WVU to present an update that I hope you will check out. WVU has as much to offer as other popular southern destinations, yet it doesn't get the props. I'd love to have an open discussion about this university.

Business is an extremely high demand program at many colleges, especially the larger institutions that have their own business schools. However, while it's one thing to have some exposure to business through a job, extracurricular activity, or experiential learning, it's quite another to choose business to be "able to get a job after graduation," or to find that other academic programs are more appealing. In this story I try to cover what might work best, a major within a business school, combination of business with another subject at a smaller school or a business minor. Some states like North Carolina have seen enrollments grown not only at their flagship universities but also at their regional public colleges. This makes admissions more strategic for out-of-state students. North Carolina is unique not only for being home to HBCUs, including North Carolina A&T but also a publicly supported school of the arts.

The UNC System achieved record enrollment this fall, with the total number of students up 3.4% over 2024. For the first time, North Carolina’s public universities surpassed a quarter of a million students.

This graduate program offers timely instruction in design thinking across many disciplines. It might be one of the few places where students previously trained in business, public affairs, engineering, computing (yes, even AI) can acquire tools to help make their products and services more user-friendly and make users less fearful of technology.

The Institute of Design at Illinois Instiute of Technology (IIT ID) grants only graduate degrees in design. These programs are quite timely and relevant.

Seton Hall has strong brand recognition within New Jersey though it has become a more appealing destination for students from other states thanks to its programs in business, diplomacy and international relations, and the health professions. It also helps to be a shirt train ride from the Big Apple. Seton Hall has relatively achievable admissions combined with genuinely positive outcomes.
