A Community Conscious Action Oriented Organization servicing the Cumberland County area. was founded January 16, 1920, at Howard University, Washington, D.C. This same year the Volstead Act became effective heralding the start of Prohibition and Tennessee delivered the crucial 36th ratification for the final adoption of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote. Since its inception, Zeta h

as continued its steady climb into the national spotlight with programs designed to demonstrate concern for the human condition both nationally and internationally. The organization has been innovative in that it has chronicled a number of firsts. It was the first National Pan-Hellenic Council organization to centralize its operations in a national headquarters, first to charter a chapter in Africa, first to form auxiliary groups, and first to be constitutionally bound to a fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. The sorority takes pride in its continued participation in transforming communities through volunteer services from members and its auxiliaries. Zeta Phi Beta has chartered hundreds of chapters worldwide and has a membership of 100,000+.

💙🤍 Starting Our Chapter Year the FINER Way! 💙🤍

The Gamma Upsilon Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Fayetteville, NC, proudly kicked off our new chapter year embracing the principles that continue to guide our sisterhood: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.

Under the theme “The Blueprint to a Finer You: Empowered Women Empower Women,” our chapter came together for a meaningful weekend of connection, reflection, service, and spiritual renewal.

💙 Service — We rolled up our sleeves and gave back through meal packing with the United Way of Cumberland County, demonstrating our continued commitment to serving our community.

🤍 Sisterhood — We strengthened our bonds through fellowship, laughter, and quality time together during our sisterhood bowling event.

💙 Retreat & Empowerment — Our chapter retreat provided an opportunity to reconnect with our purpose, prepare for the year ahead, and focus on how we can continue to grow individually and collectively as Finer Women.

🙏🏾 Prayer & Worship — We concluded our weekend together in worship, giving thanks to God and seeking His guidance, wisdom, and covering as we embark upon another year of service and sisterhood.

What a wonderful way to begin our new chapter year—serving together, growing together, fellowshipping together, and praying together.

As we move forward, we remain committed to making an impact throughout Fayetteville and Cumberland County while continuing to embody the ideals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.

Carolyn Walker, Past Basileus, has touched the lives of countless individuals throughout her remarkable journey. Whether you know her as your elementary school teacher or principal, a respected colleague with Cumberland County Schools, or as your Soror in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, you have undoubtedly experienced her kindness, wisdom, and servant’s heart.

For more than 45 years, Soror Walker has faithfully served our beloved sisterhood. She continues to serve as Financial Secretary, lends her talents to numerous chapter committees, and exemplifies what it means to be a true servant leader. Her commitment, integrity, and willingness to serve have strengthened our chapter and inspired generations of Sorors.

We are proud to share that our 2026 Alphas to Zetas (A2Z) fundraising campaign was an incredible success!

Thanks to our amazing community, we were happy to present a $5,000 check during a brief ceremony at the hospital yesterday to Ms. Brittany Dickerhoff, Gift Officer for the Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation, to support the Cape Fear Medical Center NICU. These funds will go straight to work supporting vital efforts in maternal health, prematurity research, and health equity right here in our community.

We want to send a heartfelt thank you to all of our participants, family, friends, sponsors, local businesses, donors, and volunteers for your incredible generosity. We truly could not do what we do without you. Since we started the A2Z back in 2021, our total contributions to maternal health causes have reached $66,700!

A2Z also donated $4,600 to the March of Dimes March for Babies!

Thank you for helping us champion healthy mothers and babies, one step at a time. We look forward to having you join us again when our 2026–2027 campaign kicks off this November!
