Congratulations to Sarah Montgomery, member of Orchestra Appalachia, the Jack Tale Players, Panther Singers, and the Boone Honors Program--also dancer extraordinaire--on receiving the Jasse Scholarship in History Award at the Ferrum College Academic Awards Ceremony!

The Ferrum College community gathered to celebrate academic excellence and achievement during the annual Academic Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 17, 2026, in Vaughn Chapel.

Yesterday morning Orchestra Appalachia entertained the senior breakfast club at Maple Grove Church. Jackson Spence (pictured here with his guitar) took the opportunity to pay a visit to the resting place of his grandfather, John B. Scott.

So incredibly proud of Orchestra Appalachia who, over the course of two days, played eight hours of solid dance tunes, in the middle of and between exams, for several hundred 4th Graders in the county! This is a great group this year! They handled it cheerfully and genuinely had a good time. Way to go, OA! 💪

A great time was had at The Floyd Country Store tonight for the square dance with LP Kelly! Ferrum was representing!

The last Monday Music Jam of the year, on a very cold night, included some beautiful Christmas music. Because it was moved to Grousbeck Music Hall for several weeks, everyone enjoyed Emily's amazing piano playing.
