Please join us in welcoming Ms. Kimberly Basso, the new Library Instruction Coordinator at James A. Rogers Library!

Kimberly will be working with FMU faculty to support course-integrated library instruction and help students strengthen their research and information literacy skills. She is excited to collaborate with faculty to design engaging library sessions that align with course assignments and learning goals.

Whether you are planning an in-person class visit, a research workshop, or need guidance connecting students with library resources, she will be happy to assist.

History comes alive at Rogers Library 📜

Our new exhibit, “The Revolution in South Carolina: From Resistance to Remembrance,” explores the journey from British rule to independence. Featuring rare books, historic battle maps, and early accounts of the war, the display traces the rise of legendary figures like General Francis Marion, the “Swamp Fox.”

Explore the people, places, and pivotal moments that shaped South Carolina’s fight for independence. Visit the exhibit at Rogers Library and discover how the past continues to shape our understanding of history today.

🌸 Women’s History Month Author Spotlight 🌸

In honor of Women’s History Month, Rogers Library is celebrating South Carolina native Keira Cass, a bestselling author of young adult fiction. Cass grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and has gained international recognition for her engaging stories and memorable characters.

She is the author of several novels and novellas, including the widely popular Selection series, which captivated readers around the world and was adapted for television by The CW in 2013. In 2020, her novel The Betrothed became a #1 New York Times bestseller, and her most recent book, A Thousand Heartbeats, was published in 2022.

Stop by Rogers Library to view our Women’s History Month display featuring several of her books. The titles are currently on exhibit and will be available for checkout once the display concludes.
