Our second intern is Emily Dixon.
Emily has been interning with Georgia Agribusiness Council and the City of Colbert. The people of the City of Colbert work hard to put on a July 4th parade. This parade is regarded as one of the best parades ever held in Northeast Georgia. This year was no exception. Emily knew she wanted to be involved when she found out the theme for this year’s parade was honoring Georgia’s hard-working Farmers. Emily helped to design posters, Facebook posts, took pictures the day of the event, and along with the efforts of Rep. Tom McCall coordinated to have Governor Brian Kemp attend the event. Emily has also worked as an agricultural communications intern with the Georgia Agribusiness Council (GAC). She has helped to serve the members of GAC, provided clerical support, and has helped to write articles for their monthly online newsletter and created Facebook posts.

At our Honor Night celebrations, Joshua Tompkins was awarded the Outstanding Diversified Agriculture Student. As our , Joshua is a senior who will graduate tomorrow! Joshua wanted to stay closer to home and did not want to attend a larger university, so Emmanuel was the perfect fit for him. Joshua was a student before the agricultural program began, so he was eager to switch majors when the program was established. Joshua’s passion for agriculture can be rooted back through his childhood and as he began his journey through FFA. His favorite memory is being able to obtain an agricultural degree at the school he has been attending. His future endeavors include a job in ag sales, settling down and getting married. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and passion for EC ag and agriculture!
