New Covenant University was founded in 1988 by Dr. Paul Crites with a founding principle to mentor leaders with a focused strategy of discovering each student's life purpose and strengthen each student's skill set for success in the marketplace of ideas. It all began with Dr. Crites' pragmatic and biblical approach of teaching purpose and order in his "School of Purpose" where hundreds of leaders

gathered weekly to hear him teach. Soon the class notes where published into books and training manuals evolving into a state recognized accredited program. Decades later the vision continues providing a wide array of undergraduate and graduate programs in leadership, education, theology, ministry, and counseling. The first international extension campus began in 2008 providing the same undergraduate and graduate programs of New Covenant University under the name Destiny Christian College and University. Both New Covenant University and Destiny Christian College and University have one of the highest student retention and satisfaction ratings with thousands of graduates serving in education, business, ministry, and government leadership professions.

Monday's Motivation: It Can Be Done Pt. 3 - Making It Happen DrJ2026
It's Monday.
Another "make it happen" day.
Whatever your "it", start with the premise that it will get done; adopt the mindset that it will happen.

I last shared about how seeing my neighbour in distress motivated me to assist - I've been there too many times, not knowing how the issue would be solved, and witnessed God's mercy and favour in making it happen.

Here was the humdinger - while helping my neighbour, I was in need of help myself - desperately, and I saw no easy way to solve it.

Another neighbour and I collaborated to resolve his issue, and at the end, he turned to me and provided the means to solve my issue.
Get this, not just provide temporary assistance, but full help.

Looking back, here's what I learned:
1. (I can hear Dr. Paul Crites clearly in my head) "What you make happen for others, God makes happen for you."
2. Your difficulties provide a means of understanding the need for kindness - we all need help.
3. Whatever you face is an opportunity for creativity, and a growing of your faith; faith is a muscle that thrives in the resistance of challenges.
4. Challenges expose your core - fear vs faith : do you (fear what's before you) forget everything and run, or do you (FAITH it out) Face All In The Hope of winning?
Either way, it can be done - against you or for your benefit.

Today, I pray that you are shrouded in a spirit of excellence, imbued with creativity, and empowered to complete the task before you.
Your place in The Winner's Circle awaits - we'll fellowship and celebrate.

Monday's Motivation: It Can Be Done - Part 2 - DrJ 2026
It was Saturday evening - I saw a missed call from my neighbour, and returned the call.
He needed a jumper cable - in his words, the ones he had were "too light".
I was uptown, but orchestrated getting him another.

Rushing there, (I've experienced enough roadside challenges to understand seeing a friendly face, and having help) - I found him roadside, jumping his Mercedes Van.
Successfully turning the engine over, we disconnected the cables so he could be on his way.
Just as he was about to take off, the engine sputtered and died.
The cable worked, but the battery was too depleted to supply power, and (obviously) the alternator wasn't functioning correctly.

A Mercedes Van is not a vehicle to leave roadside on a weekend.

The battery on my SUV was out of reach - tucked away deep in the engine.
I dashed home to get the battery from another SUV - a BMW, that was easier to access - or so I thought.
The driving thought was that we were going to solve this - at least get the ailing van home, and out of harm's way.

The anti-lock mechanism on the BMW made removal difficult - VERY difficult.
I tried and tried - and have the scars to prove it.
Of course, it would've helped having the right tools.
I was undaunted - this was gonna get done.

Nursing my (minor) wounds - cuts and bruises - I made it back to where he was, determined; I felt that with his pair of hands, and better tools, it could be done.

At just that moment, another neighbour, seeing us roadside, pulled up.
After a quick chat - he was the answer to the problem.
He had a van from which we easily retrieved the battery, added to the lame van, and successfully made it home.

Saturday's lesson:
1. A set mindset arms you to never give up, or give in - it's in always trying that we succeed;
2. Trying is a journey - it was necessary to push past my failing battery retrieval;
3. At just the right time, God sends help - it's your faith and works that orchestrate your success.

Here's the humdinger - the neighbour that helped was really supposed to have been home - but because he went to help someone else, he was divinely positioned to help us.

What you do next determines God's response.

Just in case you needed a gentle reminder:
"...I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly". Isaiah 60:22 (NIV)
"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless..." Romans 5:6 (NIV)
"But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son..." Galatians 4:4 (NIV)
"For God says, 'At just the right time, I heard you...I helped you.'" 2 Cor 6:2 (NIV)

Know this, your exploits are creating your "It Can Be Done" mindset; we'll meet in the Winner's Circle.
Keep pressing - your best days are ahead of you.

Thursday's Triumph: It Can Be Done - DrJ 2026
This word was set for release from yesterday - as the heading identifies, but I was busy getting it done.
As I executed, more was added - proving the old adage: if you want something done, give it to a busy person.

Whatever you face today, start with a completion perspective of accomplishing it.

"It can be done" is the general mindset of the winner.
"This, can be done" is the specific focus and goal of the one who will persevere and win.
That was the sentence I communicated to a customer.

Sentence -what an interesting term/word.
On one hand, it's the means of conversation/communication; while on the other, it's an expected condition to be met - a command to be executed.

The customer had shared a challenging desire, and I was assuring him it was possible.
After all, I get paid to solve problems.

Sitting on the roadside on Monday, having a tyre repaired was grounding.
It required 2 grown men to wrestle.
It was almost comical: 2 grown men grappling with a tyre and (what seemed to be) a nail.
In the end, what appeared to have been a nail turned out to be an 8-inch drill bit.

Don't underestimate your challenge - only he who feels it knows.
But, at the same time, don't underestimate the power of your faith.

It can had to be done - that's what prompted me to call a Repair Truck.
We looked at that tyre and said, "This can be done" - and it was.
Our journey is destination-assured, but not journey-articulated...

Make your way, knowing that there will be twists and turns - for some it involved a fiery furnace; for another a lion's den; for another looking her very best; and as you recall, Gethsemane stressfully loomed as a matter of life and death.
In every situation, this specific mindset led the way: "This can be done."

Whatever you're facing, journey on - we'll meet in the Winner's circle. I pray your continued strength, and enlarged faith.

When Life Doesn't Go As Planned - DrJ 2026.
This word has been resonating in my spirit for some time now - and various encounters and experiences over the past 2 weeks have amplified the lesson.
Even now, sitting on the side of the road with a flat tyre, the point is driven home.

When life doesn't go as planned, what's your recourse?

From seeing the impossible become possible, to dealing with difficulties calm and collected, to maximizing the situation - they've all reminded me that there is a greater power, plan and purpose at work in our lives.

In business, we call dealing with the unexpected, or unintended, risk mitigation; but I've come to prefer how God terms it.
God calls it "His plans"

Here's the conversation to reframe your perspective:
What if your "unexpected turn" is a part of God's ex*****on?
What if He's accounted for it already, factored it into your experience, encounter?
What if it's a part of your journey?

What I've already discovered, and life reminded lately:
Heaven never has an oops moment - it's either God-ordained, or God-allowed; either way, you're already covered.

My encouraging word to you today is this:
When life doesn't go as planned - pause, pray and press - it's the mindset of perseverance.
Know this, even when life is "life-fing", you're already on the way to your better days.
I'll see you in The Winners Circle.

"Do Good - Manners costs nothing" - DrJ2025
It's been a minute since I've flexed in this space.

Life has been lif-fing:
Between finishing a Master's degree, working through projects, wrestling with saying goodbye to a dear friend and paying these bills - I was st-ret-ch-ed.

The vicissitudes of life visited - a necessary visitation, like Gabriel's single visit to Mary, or the 4 angelic visits to Joseph.

I am here - still.
Alive, and kicking, and learning.

This morning's happening overflowed - to energizing phalanges, with thoughts in tow.

Finishing the turkey meant grabbing a few items I didn't have at the house.
Mad dash - driving, and in the aisles.

With 10 items in hand, I headed for the express lane.
In a crowded grocery store, and limited time - I spotted a colleague in line.
A few seconds of greetings, and me getting in line behind him - I looked and saw 2 other customers.
A mannerly "Good morning", and "Are you in line"? was greeted with a nod.

I dipped behind them - hearing Mama in my head: "Manners and respect will take you through this world."
As a young boy, I disagreed with her at the time.
Fast forward to today - I've lived long enough to come into agreement with her sage advice.

As I stood in line, glancing at my watch, and seeing the line move slowly, it dawned on me that the 2 customers I had proffered my spot in line for had actually joined after I was greeting my colleague.
Maybe, I thought, they were pressed for time as well - moving up a notch mattered.

I glanced at an unmannned Express Checkout Counter - thinking, "Lord, now would be a good time for some to activate it."
My thoughts to the Holy Spirit's hearing.

About 5 minutes later, I heard "Next!"
Now there was another customer behind me, but no movement from them.
I believe that based on my expectation, my prayer (if you will), my pull on declaring what wasn't - as yet, into what needed to be, I heard, and responded.
First in line, and out the door - the 2 customers I had capitulated to were still in line.

My reminder to you - do good, it comes back to you.
Manners matter more than metrics, love more than legality and respect more than right.

Do good - especially in this season.
"Good" was proclaimed, and then manifested 42 generations later - that's why we celebrate in this season.

I pray you have a good season, a most enjoyable day.
More than that, I pray you encounter blessings that overflow, causing you to be a blessing to others.
