A big thank you to Maestro Tiffany Lu and the UF Symphony Orchestra for indulging me over the last few weeks with Brahms’ ever-challenging and mesmerizing Piano Concerto No. 2 that culminated in a memorable performance last night! We were extremely lucky to have Esther Park and Joshua May with us yesterday: Dr. park gave a masterclass that was insightful, practical, and entertaining all at the same time; she topped it off in the evening with a thoughtfully curated recital and collaboration with Dr. May that mixed songs by Dowland, Clara Schuman, and Ravel with solo piano Romances by the Schumanns.

Out students’ first few mornings were enriched by Jane Kozhevnikova’s theory intensive, and they begin a piano literature seminar today with UF musicologist Dr. Laura Dallman, focusing on Latin American composers.
