On Wednesday, May 1, 2013, we will celebrate spring and the power of working people at the RePurpose Project, 519 S. The festivities will begin at 3 pm with a short rally at the corner of W. University Ave and 13th St. We will then begin a high-spirited march, led by our parade puppets, first to the Bo Diddley Community Plaza, where we will celebrate our local food economy (there is a farmer's mar

ket there on Wednesdays) before heading on to the RePurpose Project for music, a may pole celebration, and other fun. There will be an open assembly where anyone may speak briefly about what this day means to them. And the contra dancing -- with the Improper Contra Band --starts around 8 pm. There will be tables from various unions, immigrant rights groups, and other local progressive and radical groups. The event will be family friendly and there will be kids corner with planned activities for the kids including piƱatas, labor coloring books, face painting and much more. Please come on out and help us reclaim an international holiday that started here in the U.S.! Meet us at the corner at 3 pm, at the Plaza at 4, or at the RePurpose Project at 5 pm for food, live music, may pole, kids corner and more! Join us for a Workers Rally with Special Speakers
