We are incredibly proud to see Holocaust survivor Maud Dahme featured on HISTORY Channel!

As one of the hidden children of the Holocaust in the Netherlands, Maud has dedicated her life to ensuring that the voices of the past are never forgotten. Her tireless work in promoting Holocaust education has reached students, educators, and communities all around the world.

By sharing her powerful story on a global platform, she continues to inspire future generations to stand up against antisemitism and other forms of hatred. We are profoundly grateful for her dedication, her resilience, and her vital contributions to Holocaust education.

Last night, we were honored to welcome Sgt. Andrew “Tim” Kiniry, who shared his story with over 100 members of our community. The audience was deeply engaged in his powerful and detailed testimony. As a 45th Evacuation Hospital Combat Medic, Sgt. Kiniry served in the Battle of the Bulge, crossed the Rhine River into Germany in April 1945, and was then sent to Buchenwald, where he spent ten days treating victims and confronting the true horrors of the Holocaust.

During the program, Sgt. Kiniry was presented with a gift from Commander Martin Ross of the Garr-Greenstein Friedenberg Jewish War Veterans Post 39, making him an honorary Jewish War Veteran. Sgt. Kiniry also received an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree at Stockton’s 2025 Commencement.

We are especially grateful to Doug Cervi, adjunct faculty at Stockton University and instructor of The Impact of the Holocaust, for making Sgt. Kiniry’s visit possible and for bringing his students to hear this powerful testimony firsthand.

If you were unable to join us last night, you will have another opportunity to hear Sgt. Kiniry share his testimony in a more intimate setting on May 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM (with a break for lunch at 1:00 PM) at the Millville Army Air Field Museum.

We also thank our cosponsors: Stockton’s Minors in Holocaust and Genocide Studies and Jewish Studies, the university’s High School Dual Credit in Holocaust and Genocide Studies Program, the Board of Jewish Education of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, and the Jewish Federation of Atlantic and Cape May Counties.

Last night, we gathered in remembrance and reflection, marking 32 years since the end of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

We were honored to hear from survivor Kizito Kalima, founder of the Peace Center for Forgiveness & Reconciliation, and advocate who has dedicated his life to education, peacebuilding, and sharing his story to prevent future atrocities.

As a child during the genocide, Kizito endured unimaginable loss and violence. Today, he uses his voice to educate communities, empower young people, and promote dialogue rooted in empathy and understanding. His story is a powerful testament to resilience, memory, and the importance of bearing witness.

As we remember the lives lost, we also reaffirm our responsibility to educate, to speak out against hatred, and to ensure that “never again” is more than just words.

We would like to thank Mr. Kaleem Shabazz, President of Bridge of Faith— the Greater Atlantic City Area’s largest interfaith coalition of clergy and community leaders—for a timely and powerful introduction. We would also like to thank our co-sponsors for their help with advertisement and continuous support.
