Fraternal Greetings Brethren of District 13,

My name is Matthew Whalin, and I am the new DDGM for District 13 for the ensuing year. I am honored to serve alongside our District Service Team, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet you all at my official visits and other events throughout the year.

A brief synopsis about me: I've been a Master Mason since 2003. My home Lodge is East Trinity #157 and I served there as Worshipful Master from 2012-2013 and again from 2013 - 2014. If you ever need me for anything, please email ([email protected]).

Our District Service Team will be remaining the same and I could not be more excited about that. They are a great service team!

If you ever have a need for any of these brethren, I assure you they are always willing to make themselves available to assist in whatever capacity they can, for a Lodge or for an individual Brother.

Please see the attached schedule for my first round of official visits. I would love to see some cross-district visiting, so please plan on attending a visit that is not at your home Lodge if the opportunity allows. I would also love to see some movement in the Traveling Gavel this year. It currently resides at Brooklyn, so plan a visit to take it back to your Lodge and add your name to the book of Brethren that have had the honor to steal it away from other Lodges.

As you see, my official visits begin in February, so I will be seeing many of you very soon. I am excited about this year and I hope you are all excited about Masonry!
