In order to accomplish our objectives, McDES has been working on the creation of a Football-Soccer Academy in Grand Island, Nebraska. This organization would be totally free and open to all the youth regardless their origin, soci

al level, religion, or race. The INTERNATIONAL SOCCER ACADEMY (I.N.S.A). focuses on the integral development of youth and not on their competitive level. Children can participate in different levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and are classified according to their age within an appropriate category. This process was initiated five years ago ( July 2004) with the creation of a team which started in the U-12 (under 12 years old) category within the Nebraska Soccer League. The team included players from different countries including United States of America, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Sudan, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador . It is from this multicultural group where the name of our academy arrived. is a Club member of NEBRASKA STATE SOCCER ASSOSSIATION, has seventy -eight children in the U-8, U-11, U-14, U-15, and U-16, Divisions. Thirty of them are part of our U 8 division and our Beginning level and forty eight kids are part of our teams , the teams participate on Nebraska Soccer League’s championships achieving promotions on the competitiveness level. The organizations achievement are as follows: U-14 team participated on the First Division Fall 2009 category, U-15 team participated and won in First Division fall 2009 this team going to Premier Division, U-11 team started participating on in the Second Division during Spring 2009. The following statewide championships were obtained: Rosemary Festival Championship, York Nebraska, U-14 Division 2008; Lincoln Cup, Lincoln Nebraska, 14 Division, 2008;Norfolk Express Soccer, Norfolk Nebraska Summer 2009 U 15, Nebraska Champion Classic fall 2009, Lincoln Nebraska and several local Indoor Soccer Championships, 2004-2008.

General information

Rodrigo Gamboa, the founder of I.N.S.A, believes in the USA Soccer Association principles and regulations. While living in Colombia, Mr. Gamboa was a successful soccer player who played at the amateur level. He has more than eight years of experience inspiring and coaching children. To sharpen his skills as a coach he took several classes and currently holds a National “D” Soccer Coach License, (lic. #99618). Additionally, he has an extensive professional background as a Business Manager in Colombia and Coordinator of Programs for University of Nebraska at Kearney, for Nebraska Safety Center. He currently works at Legal Aid of Nebraska as the Director of Minority Programs and Certified HUD Counselor. In addition the founder he had been recognized into the community for his outstanding effort and his contribution on 2008 as a “Person of the Year” from Multicultural Coalition in Grand Island and the Mexican American Commission and State of Nebraska recognized him in 2009 for his with “2009 Above and Beyond Award” for his dedication and service to the betterment of Latino families throughout Nebraska and his altruist spirit.
