Olthuis wrote

"The gift -of- love is also a gift -for- love; the gift is simultaneously a call. It is the birth of human agency as response-ability for the gift. The process of receiving identity is at the same time a process of constituting one's identity in relation to others. A self is born not only in and through (receiving) love, but equally, reciprocally, in and through (giving) love to oth

ers." --Crossing the Threshold: Sojourning Together in the Wild Spaces of Love

CUSP, whose intellectual grandfather is Olthuis himself, is dedicated to precisely this project--the cultivation of selves whose identity builds on the experience of love (in both directions). It is in these wild spaces of love that philosophy is capable of working toward the Good of society, the self, and the Church. We invite any and all to join us in our quest for understanding.
