The Blue Crescent Outreach Foundation was formed in August 2015 by Nu Lambda Sigma, the local chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, INC. The Mission of the Blue Crescent Outreach Foundation is mirrored in the national initiatives of Phi Beta Sigma. They are: Bigger Better Business, Education, and Social Action. We are focused and committed to serving our community; through our mentoring program, S

igma Beta Club, by adopting several local elementary and junior high schools through our adopt-a-school program. In our adopt a school program, we partner with local educators to help enhance student growth in their communicative skills of reading, writing, and oratory skills. Using established programs developed by BMO Harris Bank and Wells Fargo, we intent to teach individuals in the low and moderate income community financial management skills that are vital to wealth building. We are committed to developing health education programs in effort to eliminate health disparities in men of color. Our engagement in the community drives awareness of key health issues that are facing people of color. Additionally, we provide scholarships for several organizations that promote the opportunity for students to investigate post-high school opportunities (College visits), as well as scholarships to assist students in attending college. Our focus is to serve the needs of Lake County with our time, talent, and treasure so that the growth of the community will shine bright.
