Congrats to our amazing students who sat for the CPCE today!

This milestone represents years of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to serving others through the counseling profession. Today marks another important step as they continue to work toward completing the program, earning their degree, and preparing to enter the communities that are waiting for them.

As they focused on the exam, the gifts waited outside the door. More than a celebration, they served as a reminder that something much greater awaits them on the other side. Beyond the doors of graduate school are future opportunities, new professional roles, and communities that will benefit from the knowledge, compassion, and dedication they bring to this profession.

We are so proud of how far they have come ans excited for the next steps ahead as they continue to work toward completing the program and entering professional practice!

✨Faculty Spotlight✨

Meet Dr. Ashley Stanley, Associate Professor in the Master of Education in Initial Teacher Licensure Program at Lincoln Memorial University! 📚

Dr. Stanley began teaching as an adjunct professor in the School of Education in 2012 before becoming a full-time professor in 2014. With 23 years in education as both a teacher and professor, she continues to inspire future educators every day.

Her advice to students pursuing education:
🍎 Students may not remember every lesson, but they will remember how you made them feel.
🍎 Relationships matter more than perfection.
🍎 Flexibility is one of the greatest skills a teacher can develop.
🍎 Protect your passion and never stop learning.
🍎Some of your biggest impacts will happen quietly and years later.
🍎Education is challenging, exhausting, meaningful, and deeply important work. 🍎What you do matters. Every single day.

One fun fact? In addition to her passion for education, Dr. Stanley loves reading and even holds a master’s degree in Library Media!

Dr. Stanley says what makes LMU unique is its relationship-focused campus combined with a mission dedicated to serving Appalachia through education and healthcare.

Among her accomplishments, she was named Teacher of the Year for the 2011–2012 school year and became a nationally certified virtual teacher during COVID, helping her create meaningful online and hyflex learning experiences for students. In addition to her position in the MEdITL program, Dr. Stanley has collaborated with Dr. Cave for the past 3 academic years to facilitate New Faculty Academy and Pedagogy workshops.

Thank you, Dr. Stanley, for your dedication to LMU students and the future of education! 💙
