Race recap of a fun evening with a perfect non rubber TST racetrack to test on!
Showed up way early to track and drew a pill instead of starting in rear and of course my pill draw got me starting dead last heat of 8 cars 🤣!
I love making things faster especially if others think it's not possible, so this leaf car was the perfect challenge for me I think!
First time I took this leafer mod to the track it wouldn't turn in unless I used a 8 tires, (somebody else's car) so I had to slow way down, wait and power up when straight in heat race, I didn't make any changes for main because I wanted to see how car reacted to track slowing down and tire heat plus I really need laps since I hadn't raced in a long time!
Last night was second time out and I made some fairly large right front spring and shock changes before I left shop, well I definitely could of used same 8 tires to keep from spinning out on entry in heat, "completely opposite of first time out"!
Started P8 finished P4 in 6 lap heat.
Obviously I went to far on changes but definitely figured out real quick I can make it turn in on entry 🤣!
So I decided to make some changes to rear of car with offsets and stagger for feature instead of working on right front just to see if it was possible to fix entry and exit with rear of car. Since I hadn't really made an adjustment on the rear and decided to run the bottom for as many laps as I could in the slickest part to feel changes, it worked out great, I finally got to run by myself 15 laps in the bottom while everyone else was powering around the ring on top in the good stuff!
But definitely wasn't enough, still super free on entry for feature and that was effecting when and how hard I could use throttle on exit also.
Got some studying to do this week for the next set of changes but definitely looking forward to next race in a leaf car as I'm getting more comfortable in car and track was awesome and slick with no rubber, perfect test track!
