Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is the world’s oldest and largest secret national fraternal society in music

Northern Kentucky University is home to the Xi Lambda chapter of Phi Mu Alpha. We serve the Greater Cincinnati area though a number of outreach events, all centered around music. Our primary philanthropic activity is the Mills Music Mission (MMM), named after our founder Ossian Everett Mills. MMMs are used to bring music into the lives of those who share our community. We serve with music in hospi

tals, retirement homes, restaurants, and more, all to advance music in America. As a brother of not only this chapter, but of the entire fraternity, members have a large network of friends, music faculty members, and co-workers across the country who share a special bond.

The Xi Lambda chapter would like to wish a happy (belated) birthday to one of our alumni, Conrad Krieger! Conrad previously served as our chapter president and is currently a music teacher at Klondike Lane Elementary in Louisville, KY. Conrad is a model Sinfonian and we wish him well!

Happy birthday to Ian Caldwell, he served as FEO in his time with the Xi Lambda chapter and is currently the band director at Williamstown independent school in williamstown Ky. In addition to this he is a former instructor for cross men drum and bugle corps. (Sorry for the late post)

On this day, 25 years ago, in 1994, the Xi Lambda chapter was officially charted at Northern Kentucky University. Since then we have seen so many great men join our fold during their collegiate days and we feel nothing but pride in the work we have done, and the work we will do. With another anniversary milestone in the books, we hope that we can continue the trend of growth and advancement of music in America during this upcoming year and for years to come.
