was chartered on April 30, 1983. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose it to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University. Today, Delta Sigma Sorority Incorporated has chartered 1,060 chapters worldwide and has initiated more than 350,000 members since its founding. We have also awarded more $56K in scholarships and grants. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. The Hawaii Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly honors two of our Sorors who are breast cancer survivors. Teresa Carr and Alica Dease!! Their courage and resilience inspire us all. 💗

Together, we participated in the Susan G. Komen Walk to support survivors, honor those we have lost, and raise awareness.

The ladies of the Hawai’i Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, proudly stand in support of International Day of the Girl! We believe every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, lead, dream boldly, and reach her fullest potential. When we invest in girls, we invest in stronger families, thriving communities, and a brighter future for generations to come.

Today, we challenge our communities to DO MORE than celebrate girls—INVEST IN THEM, ADVOCATE FOR THEM, PROTECT THEM, AND EMPOWER THEM TO LEAD! Together, let us break down barriers, open doors, and ensure every girl has the resources and support she needs to turn her dreams into reality.

Join the Hawaiʻi Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the NAACP Honolulu Branch for the 2026 Civil Rights Election Summit!

This community event will focus on increasing voter turnout, demystifying the electoral process, and uplifting community voices—with an emphasis on understanding the systems and logistics that help ensure every vote counts.

📚💜 HAC DST NICU Book Drive is back! 📚💜

The Hawaii Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to continue our strategic partnership with March of Dimes Hawaii to support families in the Kapiʻolani Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Last year, thanks to the generosity of our Sorors, families, friends, and community supporters, we collected 520 books, exceeding our goal of 500! Together, we helped create a library where families can share the gift of reading with premature babies and their siblings.  Families were also gifted their favorite book to take home.

Now, we are TURNING THE PAGE 📖 and beginning another year of service! ❤️📖 🔺

Literacy opens doors to many opportunities and together we will continue to help Hawaiʻi’s tiniest warriors and their families step boldly into the future.
