Who: Dr. Juliana Rangel with invited speakers: Sue Cobey, Melanie Kirby (Zia Queens, NM), Megan Mahoney (Commercial Queen Producer in Texas), and members of the Rangel Bee Lab

What: Queen Rearing and Instrumental Insemination

Cost: $200 (covers cost of supplies, lunch, and refreshments).

Space is limited to 50 participants.

The height adjustment k**b on the Little Giant ladder is very hard to turn with honey covered gloves. I added wire pull handles (see left k**b) and now they are ready to use.

My latest bee vacuum version 6.0, then I added viewing windows to make it 6.2.

This was a tough one. Bees in a brick arch that was on the verge of structural collapse. One brick missing, keystone slipped down one inch, vertical cracks on both sides. Normally I'd remove the top row of soldier bricks but I estimated there was a 5% chance the arch would fall if I did that. Opted to cut an opening in the attic, only had 3½ inches to work through. Made for a long day.
