Phi Beta Sigma, Houston Alpha Beta Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has been an active and full time John E. Westberry and the Hon. Louis Engram.

The current name of the facility located on Elgin Street is the Westberry-Engram Sigma Educational Foundation in honor of two great Sigma Men, Hon. We have a membership of 60 plus Sigma Men and our Beta Club, youth program. We support numerous programs locally and nationally, Scholarships, the March for Babies, HIV-AIDS, Thanksgiving Day Food Basket program, Christmas Dinner and Fellowship with th

e Anna Dupree Senior Living Facility, the Cancer Walk, and our Annual Fellowship service at the Veterans Hospital.

​Together, we partnered with Boynton Chapel United Methodist Church to support their food pantry initiative, handing out essential groceries to local families in need. 🍞📦 Service is at the core of Culture for Service and Service for Humanity, and seeing everyone link up for a common purpose is what it's all about! 🏛️✊🏾

​Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our local neighbors, the Sigmas of Houston showed what genuine partnership looks like at the 2026 Annual Back to School Bash Festival & Job Fair! Beyond joining in the celebration, our brothers stood on the front lines of civic engagement, helping register 21 local citizens to vote! 🗳️📜

​There is nothing more powerful than a united community working together for a brighter future. From equipping our youth with school supplies and sharing great family moments to opening real doors for local career opportunities, this event proved what we can achieve when families, organizers, and brothers lock arms. 🎒💼✨

​On Monday, August 10, 2026, the brothers of the Alpha Beta Sigma Chapter showed up in full force at Blackshear Elementary School in Houston, Texas, to bring the energy for the official start of the 2026–2027 school year! 🏫⚡

​Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with dedicated school staff and local community leaders, our chapter was right on the front lines as students stepped foot on campus.
