RUBS Diversity and Inclusion📸

RUBS (Rice University Bioscience Society) is planning a panel event to focus on diversity and inclusion. This event is for graduate students and Rice faculty to share their experience and provide mentorship to Rice undergraduates. The panelists will discuss ways that they have found support systems through their academic journey in this field, the struggles/rewards of research, and what they wish they could have been told as an undergraduate student in Biosciences. The panel is happening on Tuesday Nov 8th at 5pm at Miner's Lounge (RMC)! Free pizza will be provided for the attendees!

Our panelists are: Dr. Miller (Ecology professor), Dr. Saltz (Animal Behavior Professor), Carlos Llanos (graduate student in Segatori Lab), Marina Huchinson (graduate student in the Saltz lab) and Maryam Faghihi (graduate student in the Egan lab). Can't wait to see you all there!

Hey RUBS!

We are excited to announce a new program for this semester, the RUBS Mentorship Program! This program will pair an underclassman student interested in biosciences with an upperclassman "mentor" currently in biosciences. We hope that upperclassmen can give peer guidance and share their experiences or any advice they have with Rice underclassmen!

If you are interested in being mentored or being a mentor, please fill out this Google form by next Wednesday, February 10! The expected commitment is really up to you and your partner. We will base pairs off of major/minor interests and provide the contact information.
